5A - Christine Bartel

Hi my name is Christine Bartel and this is my first year teaching at Immaculate Heart of Mary. I will be teaching 5th grade Mathematics and Science.

I received my Bachelors degree in Middle Grades Education from Northern Kentucky University in the spring of 2011. I am certified to teach both Mathematics and Science. I have always had a passion for both Mathematics and Science that dates back to my elementary years. I chose to teach both of these subjects for several reasons, but the main reason is that I want to show students why the essential skills we learn in the classroom are necessary for our everyday life.

I am originally from Florence, Kentucky and I attended St. Henry Grade School and Saint Henry District High School. After high school I attended Northern Kentucky University. While in college I met my husband, Tony, and we are happily married and have been blessed with a beautiful daughter Ella.

I grew up knowing that I wanted to be in a profession where I could truly help other people. At first I thought that I would end up as a nurse, but decided that I wanted to be around children on a daily basis. I hope that I can be a positive influence in the lives of my students and be a good role model for them.
