5C - Sharon Bennett

I am a teacher in 4th/5th grade here at Immaculate Heart of Mary. The areas I teach are in the area of Social Studies.It magnificent subject to teach and that I truly love it in my own life. My career at Immaculate Heart of Mary is beginning a fifth year. Total years of teaching are 41 years. I have taught inner city, sub-urban, open classroom, multi-aged, non-graded, split-classes, grades 1,2,3,4,5. Undergraduate work (B.A.) was earned from Morehead State University, Masters in Education at Northern Kentucky University, post graduate hours at Xavier University. I have a lifetime provisional certificate in the state of Kentucky. I have always been a Northern Kentucky resident. I grew up in a small family with Dad, Mom, and 1 older sister. After graduating from college I married Tom Bennett. Samuel Alan was born and was such a blessing to our family. We enjoyed a very incredible life together for 33 years of marriage. Tom passed away with cancer. Our family had grown rich with much traveling, family time, and ongoing education. My pastimes are reading, flowers, painting, traveling, family and friends. Sam continues to bring joy to my life. My desire to teach comes from seeing the sparkle of wonder in the stories we read and the places we go without ever buying a ticket for the transportation or now "I get it!" looks on their pretty faces. The children are awesome here at IHM!
