3A - Kristin Harper
I am proud to be teaching my 13th year at Immaculate Heart of Mary School!!! I have taught third grade my whole career because I love this age group. I grew up in the Northern KY area, having gone to St. Paul and Villa Madonna Academy. I earned my BA in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky and my Masters from Northern Kentucky University with an emphasis on Reading and Writing. I also have my Orton~Gillingham endorsement and am lucky enough to use it to help our IHM community of learners, as well. I taught full time at IHM for five years until I had my son, Will, and since then, I have been blessed to be able to be a part time member of the IHM faculty.
Although I love my job, I also love being a mother to three children, Will (7), Caroline (4) and Margo (7 months) and a wife to my supportive husband, William. I feel so blessed to share my passion, children, as my vocation. I learn so much from my students every day and love that they inspire me to be a better person, mother and teacher. In my free time, I enjoy working out (ZUMBA), walking, reading, music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Thank you for sharing your children with me!

Hello! Although this is my second year teaching here at IHM and teaching altogether, this is my first year as the Full Day 3A teacher! I am very excited about this opportunity. While my teaching career is relatively new, my life here at IHM is not. My grandparents have been members of the parish since it’s founding in 1954. It was here at IHM that I was baptized, received my 1st Communion, was confirmed as well as married. I am also a graduate of IHM! I am proud of the fact that I am not only professionally invested in Immaculate Heart of Mary; I am personally invested as well.
I am a lifelong resident of Boone County; I attended Conner High School and eventually went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s in Education from Northern Kentucky University. My husband Tim and I have two wonderful daughters, Maria who is in 4-year-old preschool here at IHM and Noelle who is soon to be 2 years old.
A few years ago, I decided to return to school to become a teacher, I felt that I was being called to do so. Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher but in high school, I changed my mind. After a couple of stints in other careers, I began to feel the pull and desire to go back to school and earn my teaching certificate. I love being in the classroom and interacting daily with young fresh minds! Children have so much to offer the world! The rewards of seeing students succeed, learn and grow are what make this job the best job in the world!
