7C - Tracy McManama
My teaching experience began when I was a student myself. As a student in elementary, middle, and high school in Norwalk, Ohio (Cedar Point area), I started to develop my beliefs about education and learning. Many teachers and coaches inspired me through their teaching styles and this set the foundation for my teaching beliefs. Then I went to college at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) where I studied to be a teacher. After graduating from Bowling Green State University, I began my first job at Woodland Middle School where I taught 6th grade math for 4 ½ years. When I started teaching at Woodland Middle School, I also started in the master's program at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). My classes at NKU strengthened my knowledge base, experiences, and technical training. These experiences have helped me become the positive role model I am today.
In between teaching at Woodland and being a part of IHM staff, I was a stay-at-home mother for 7 years. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Dave, for almost 14 years. We have three children; Nicholas-9 years, Sarah-8 years, and Mary Grace-3 years old. As we all know, mothering is one of the hardest jobs on earth, but also one of the most amazing gifts from God! I feel so blessed to be a mother of three amazing children of God!
This is my second year at Immaculate Heart of Mary. I teach 6/7 grade Math & Science. My family are parishioners at IHM for 8+ years. I feel very blessed to be a part of IHM staff and community. I couldn't ask for a better job! I have an opportunity not only to inspire children through education, but also to share the love of God!
