CAR TRANSPORTATION IN THE MORNING
(Make sure the AM car driver reads this article)
There will be changes in the
morning drop off after Labor Day. Pre
School will begin on Tuesday. There is a
new procedure this year and it will be very important to drive slow and watch for oncoming cars.
The Pre School cars will
enter and go down the second lane, as does the cars coming up from the lower
lot. Pre School cars will go down the
lane and make a right turn to go into Father’s lot to park and drop off.
Please remember
“School Buses have the right away.” Many times
the buses go around all the stopped cars on the upper lot. Check in your rear view mirror before making
any quick left hand turns.
There are so many driving in
the morning that we ask that as you enter the bottom lot tell your children to
gather all of their belongings and say your goodbyes BEFORE you reach
the marked side walk. This will
alleviate traffic jams on KY 18. Should
you have any questions or concerns please call the school office.
On Friday, September 10 IHM School
will have student pictures taken by Lifetouch.
A picture packet was sent home in the last family folder. You are under no obligation to purchase the photos. Every student will have their picture taken
for school records. On this day students
may be out of uniform but may not wear jeans.
Gym shoes must be worn. Students
in 3 yr Pre School will have pictures taken on Picture Retake Day. Date has not been announced.
PTO MEETING – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER
20 - 7 PM CAFETERIA
The PTO
Meeting will be held on Monday, September 20.
Please consider joining us for the first business meeting of the school
year. Parent(s) in attendance may sign a
sheet at the end of the meeting. This
will give their children an out of uniform day on Tuesday September 21.
NO SCHOOL – SEPTEMBER 6th – LABOR DAY
NO SCHOOL ON OCTOBER 8th & OCTOBER 11th
E-MAIL AND “COMMUNITY” PHONE CALLS
The school office has been
updating e-mail addresses and phone numbers from the forms families
completed. If you are not receiving
e-mails or the all-school phone calls please contact Pat Klingenberg at pklingenberg@ihm-ky.org .
UNIFORM SHIRT ORDERS – DUE BY
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3
Uniform orders
must be received by Friday, September 3.
Please include your order form and monies to Emily Freihofer or Pat
Klingenberg. There are sample shirts in
the office for students to try on. All
sales are final. The next shirt
order will be placed late October.
CAFETERIA/LUNCH PROCEDURES
Students may
pack or buy lunch. Students may not
eat fast food or drink soda pop at lunch-time. The school menu is on the IHM School
website, www.ihm-ky.org. Click on SCHOOL and then MENU to see what is
being prepared for that day.
Students are
given twenty minutes to eat lunch and ten minutes for recess. Recess is outside unless there is inclement
weather. It’s important during the winter
that students bring a coat, hat, and gloves.
Please mark names inside of clothing items.
Our photo
company, Lifetouch, will make an ID badge for all students and staff. On this photo ID is a bar code that the
cafeteria uses as a debit card. Each student
has an account to place money for lunches or a drink. When the account gets low the cafeteria will
send out a reminder.
Each semester
families are required to have all fees, including cafeteria paid in full. By not doing so your child (children) will
not receive their report cards (Handbook Page 6).
Should you have
any questions about the cafeteria procedures please contact Connie Garcia,
cafeteria manager, at 689-4303 X238 or cgarcia@ihm-ky.org.

If you have not signed up for tuition or are
not yet paying tuition please contact Gwen Wolf at 689-4303 X233 or gwolf@ihm-ky.org.
Outside the gym door there is a bulletin board called the
“IHM HALL OF FAME.” Our school has so
many students who work so hard and achieve so many wonderful things that we
would like for them to share their news with us! If your child has achieved or
accomplished something recently we would love to hear about it! This can be anything from receiving a
different color belt in karate, catching a huge fish, winning a soccer
tournament, getting a medal in a dance contest or something adventurous like
riding in a hot air balloon. Our “Hall of Fame” is already filling up with all
kinds of neat stuff that our present and past students achieved this
summer. When you know of something
exciting that a past or present student at IHM has done please send a picture
with news about it to school.
(Attention: Jan Dooley) Looking
forward to seeing all the great things that our own IHMer’s are achieving!

Mornings are hectic at home and
in the school office. Many students are
forgetting book bags, books, homework, snacks and lunch. The office asks that you help us in this
matter by making sure the children have everything they need before leaving
home. Starting the day prepared makes
the day less stressful.
Emergencies arise but we ask
that you have your child’s transportation arrangements made in the
morning. If you need a change in
transportation please call before 1 PM.
