Admission:
The PREP (Primary Religious Education Program) Program here at IHM is open to all children, grades 1-6, within the parish boundary. Families must be registered, contributing members of IHM parish. Classes generally begin the second week of September and continue until the second week of May. A complete class schedule is given to the parents the first evening of class.
Classes are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Book fees cover the cost of books and supplies, i.e. paper, pencils, crayons, notebooks, folders etc. Fees are payable at the beginning of each current PREP year. Arrangements may also be made to pay on an installment if necessary.
Attendance:
In order for students to gain the most from the religious education program, weekly attendance is essential. Sporadic attendance inhibits not only your child’s grasp of the material but also prevents him/her from feeling comfortable with the members of his/her class.
A teacher may be approached for make up work before class if this has been prearranged or after class, never during class.
Parental Involvement
Parental presence and involvement in the program on Tuesday and Wednesday evening is essential to the smooth functioning of the education offered to the children. Parents who teach, drive for field trips, attend Reconciliation services, attend prayer services, attend parent nights etc, are essential to the success of our program.
