Confirmation is the Sacrament which gives us the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. It completes the grace we receive at Baptism and helps to make us strong and faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
Confirmation is administered by the bishop who anoints the candidate on the forehead with the holy oil of Chrism, the laying on of hands and saying:
‘Be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit."
Sophomore high school students of our parish prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The preparation program intensifies September through November. Confirmation is administered every year, usually on the Monday prior to Thanksgiving. Arrangements can be made for adult reception of this Sacrament by contacting Sr. Armella Pietrowski.
Adult Confirmation is celebrated at the Covington Cathedral of the Assumption on Pentecost Sunday.
